Do you need a common language?

This page is made to explain why language is a problem and how to solve it.

Why is language a problem?

All people understand intuitively that we need a common language to be able to communicate with each other.

Maybe we take for so granted and obvious, that we don't reflect on it?

Of course humans need a comon language to understand each other. If we don't have a common language we need to translate between the two, and translaing is possible, but cost a lot of money, it take longer time and we need people to do it.

It's exaclty the same for software, they also need a common language to be able to understand each other. Maybe you didn't know that it's quite seldom that software share the same language. Out of all software in the world, probably more than 90% don't have a common language.

And when software don't speak the same language, we need to translate between software and this cost a lot of money, it take longer time and we need people to do it. The industry for translation between software it more than 10 times higher than translation between people.
